About

Managing and Planning your Personal Finances is a subject that many don’t take seriously. But your financial situation depends on how well you can plan and manage every aspect of your personal finances. Here you will find many answers to questions you may have about personal debt, personal credit, identity theft, personal loans, and many other financial subjects. So, whether you want to get out of debt fast, fix your credit rating, the best identity theft protection, or learn about a home loan modification, you will find what you came looking for.

Please note that there are many comments from readers that give advice to the best of their knowledge. I would like to point out though, that you should be aware that their are many scam sites in the personal finance field that just want to take your money for services that you could do yourself.  Worse are the sites that offer you a free trial to their service but ask for your credit card details and sometimes even your Social Security Number. Some of these sites will simply bill you after the free trial, but it will be a large amount of money or a monthly payment that you were not expecting. Others are run by Identity Thieves who will take your information and empty your bank account or worse.

Some services to be aware of are “Credit Repair,” “Free Credit Report,” “Free Credit Monitoring,” “Free Credit Scores,” “Payday Loans,” “Loan Modification,” and “Debt Consolidation” companies and agencies.

I am not saying that all of them are scams; some are geniune services that do as they advertise but please read the small print carefully. For anything to do with credit reports and credit scores, visit the official website that the 3 credit reporting agencies have setup – www.annualcreditreport.com

For help with debt problems, loan modifications, credit repair self help, etc, you can find some useful downloadable e-books that offer good advice. I know I would rather spend only $30 or $40 on an e-book (that has a money back guarantee) than on an online company that might take hundreds of dollars out of my credit card, or worse. You can check out some reviews of decent personal finance guides over at www.personalfinancesreview.com.

Good luck with your personal finances,

William Wilkie
